Colorado State Volleyball Social Media Accomplishments

Through my work with Colorado State Athletics, I was promoted to Colorado State Volleyball Social Media Assistant. From 2022-2024, Colorado State Volleyball platforms have seen record breaking numbers of engagement. Through that time period the team’s social media has seen:

  • The highest ever Instagram impression count to date at 257,157 impressions

  • Instagram Audience Increase: 17.00%

  • Facebook Audience Increase: 3.89%

  • Twitter Audience Increase: 5.72%

  • Total Overall Audience Increase: 26.61%

The Kohan Era

The coaching transition from Tom Hilbert, who coached Colorado State Volleyball for 26 years, to Emily Kohan was a monumental change in the culture of the team. During that time Emily Kohan and the team accomplished:

  • Capturing the first victory over a nationally ranked team since 2017 against University of Kentucky

  • The highest average attendance since 2014

  • The highest student attendance in all of Moby Arena history at 4,395 students

  • Three team school records, and three new individual school records

Mountain West Tournament

While working with the Colorado State Volleyball team I had the opportunity to travel with them to the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Colorado State Rams are 22-time Mountain West Championships who had a large league presence, being ranked #2 going into the tournament.

We geared our social media strategy towards following this team throughout the entirety of the season, ensuring that we capitalized on each and every moment. We wanted to tell the story of this team through a lens that encompassed all that they are as woman in sports. Those who followed the story knew that they were destined for greatness, and were able to see that through, ultimately making it to the championship.
